Horse Books!

I just love a well written horse story or a story involving horses - don’t you? I feel like horsewomen in particular are written to be stronger and more admirable that most female characters in other books (probably because we are badass in real life). I’ve read a few that I really enjoyed lately, and I’m pretty critical when it comes to novels. Below is a short list of recent favs I’d recommend and more that are on my list to read soon. I’m going to look through my Goodreads lists to see if I can find more to add. Please leave me your suggestions in the comments - both ones to read and ones to avoid!

• The Siren of Sussex by Mimi Matthews
  A British period novel with beautiful clothes, beautiful horses ridden sidesaddle, and a forbidden love story? Oh yes, please!

• The Horsewoman by James Patterson & Mike Lupica
  Family drama, love interests, and the competition scenes really got my heart pumping just imagining them!

• The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes
  A group of women start a travelling library, delivering books on horseback to homes in the rural mountains of Kentucky. Books, horses, and a love story to boot!
